I heard back from the National Quilt Museum at last. My 3 dimensional accordion-shaped "Elephant In the Room" quilt is a finalist in the 25th anniversary contest. Yay! I mailed it to them last week. Now it will get to be displayed at the museum and then travel around to shows for a while. What a relief! I was wondering what I was going to do with the thing if it didn't get in. I am not sure what the rules are for posting pictures so I won't post a picture of it yet.

This quilt top came from a dye painting workshop with Hollis Chatelain back in the spring. The design, including the background color, is painted on plain white cotton. So I quilted it up with sparkly thread and embroidered the centers of the flowers. Here's a close-up:
Currently, I am working on a baby quilt for a friend. Owls in a tree. I'll be posting a picture soon.
